The 15th Annual KISS Cares for Kids Radiothon, which aired live on WKSE-FM radio KISS 98.5 on Thursday, May 10, successfully signed off by raising $203,984 in pledges for the purchase of a new dual-capacity transport isolette for neonates at John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital.
The state-of-the-art neonatal transport unit will allow for the safe transfer of premature infants, primarily twins, in-flight and via ambulance.
“The KISS Cares for Kids Radiothon has had an immeasurably positive impact on the lives of countless children and their families throughout Western New York,” said Allegra C. Jaros, MBA, president, John R. Oishei Children's Hospital. “We are forever grateful to KISS 98.5 and everyone who donates their time and money to make this event so successful each year.”
The Radiothon featured a daylong broadcast by KISS 98.5 morning show hosts Janet Snyder and Nick, who shared compelling and emotional stories of patients and their families, physicians and caregivers for the first time at the new Oishei Children's Hospital. Phone lines were staffed by volunteers from Tony Walker & Co., Tops Friendly Markets, Wal-Mart, New Era Cap and more!
