Gary C. Brice, MSW, EdD, was named vice president of learning and engagement for Kaleida Health.
In his new role, Dr. Brice will be responsible for overseeing the learning needs of the workforce and orchestrating system-wide strategies to improve employee and physician engagement. He will continue to oversee Kaleida Health’s learning management system and supervise the Department of Learning and Engagement, formerly known as Corporate Training, Development and Employee Engagement. He will also coordinate the six site-based Strategic Communication Teams.
Dr. Brice most recently served as director of Corporate Training, Development & Employee Engagement. He has held several other positions at Kaleida Health, including director of Internal Communications and vice president, Community Research and Program Development for DeGraff Memorial Hospital.
Before coming to Kaleida Health, he was the founding director of the University at Buffalo Institute for Work/Family Balance and associate director of University at Buffalo’s Center for the Study of Aging.
Dr. Brice earned his master’s degrees in social work and library science from the University at Buffalo and his doctorate in education from Century University in New Mexico.
Active in the community, Dr. Brice co-chaired WNED’s Community Advisory Board, and has served on numerous United Way health and human service committees. He was chair of the Health Association of New York State Community Health Task Force and the Community Health Network of WNY. Recently he sat on the Optimum Physician Alliance Physician Leadership Board as a patient advocate.
Jeffrey Holt has been named vice president, chief operating officer for DeGraff Memorial Hospital (DMH) and Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital (MFSH). He will continue his role as vice president of clinical services for Kaleida Health, including surgery, orthopedic, vascular, neuroscience and cardiology service lines.
In his new position, Holt will provide executive leadership to multiple core service departments at DMH and MFSH in addition to strategic clinical program and service line oversight for orthopedic, vascular, neuroscience and cardiology service lines. His responsibilities also include oversight of sterile processing and registry/data abstraction for stroke and cardiac at the adult hospital locations.
Over the past two and half years, Holt held the position of vice president of clinical services at Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute and Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo.

Holt graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biology from the State University of New York at Geneseo and a Master in Public Administration, Healthcare Management and Policy Analysis, Wagner School of Public Service, New York University.
He is a native of Buffalo and member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Medical Group Management Association.
